When it comes to ordering wedding programs, most brides would just count the number of people on their invite list. If you were thinking of doing the same then you are at the right place. Just like ordering too many programs is not good, ordering not enough of them could be even worse. So, to avoid any troubles we are going to talk about a secret formula for ordering your wedding programs.
The first thing you should know is that you don’t need as many wedding programs as you have invitees. This might seem like the best thing to do. But, if you think about it, not every guest will attend the ceremony. And not every single guest at the ceremony will take a program.
So… How many wedding programs should you order?
The number of programs you should order works best as a percentage. You should order 75-85% of the number of invitations sent. With this rule, you won’t have too many of them left over.
Another thing to think about is how you’ll be distributing them. Designating a person to hand them to each guest is one way of doing this. Remember, even though there is a person handing out programs, not every single guest will take one. Most husbands will probably share the programs with their wives. If you put the programs in a basket and let the guests pick them on their own, there will likely be more left over. With one of these two ways, following the 75-85% rule will work amazingly for you.
Alternatively, you can put a program on each chair. In this case you should simply order enough for the number of chairs that will be set up.
Wedding Program Tips:
- If you don’t want to order that many wedding programs, you can use a wedding sign instead. The sign should include all of the important information that your guests should know. Place it somewhere where all of the guests will see it. You won’t have to worry about the numbers and handing them over. And you get to be eco-friendly as well!
- Ordering the programs at the same time as your invitations can get you a quantity discount on the paper.
- When the programs finally arrive, take one right off the top and save it in your memory box. Many couples forget to do this and never have a copy of their ceremony program to look back on.
- Create online RSVPs! This way it will be easier for you to know everyone’s answers and order a suitable number of programs.
