4 Disney Honeymoon Ideas and Destinations

Guest Post By Brooke Miller, Travel Agent with Friend Like Me Travel Co.

When it comes to selecting where to travel for your honeymoon, a Disney Destination makes a magical option! Whether you’re seeking relaxation or adventure (or maybe a mix of both), Disney offers it all! Plus, you can register for parts of your honeymoon plans using a number of wedding registry tools. Disney even offers their own honeymoon registry.

Now I am sure you’re asking yourself, “What are my Disney Honeymoon options?” Well, I am here to provide guidance! Here are 4 Disney Destinations that make magical honeymoons:

1. Disney Cruise Line Honeymoon Highlights

Why a Disney Cruise Line Honeymoon?

Easily visit romantic locations across the globe while only unpacking once.

Itinerary options include the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico, Bermuda, Hawaii, the Pacific Coast, the Panama Canal, the Transatlantic & Europe. With that many options to choose from, you are bound to find the perfect honeymoon location to celebrate as newlyweds.

Additionally, you have the opportunity in selecting a wide range of cruise lengths. Cruise lengths range from 2 – 14 nights (dependent on location).

There are various state room options to pick from per ship. That said, the top options recommended for honeymooners are an ocean view room, a room with a balcony (called a Verandah) or even splurging on a concierge-level room.

Disney Cruise Line has won major awards, including Newsweek 2020’s No. 1 America’s Best Companies for Customer Service, Travel & Leisure World’s Best Awards 2019 No. 1 Mega-Ship Ocean Cruise Line and Condé Nast Traveler 2019 Reader’s Award #1 Top Large Cruise Line in the World

Relaxing Activities

It is definitely worth checking out Quiet Cove Pool, an adult exclusive oasis on board all ships. Alternatively, unwind in the main pool or whirlpool. Or, simply lounge on comfortable chairs with a cocktail in hand.

Does a relaxing couples’ massage or facial call your name? If yes, you’d be in for a treat at Senses Spa & Salon (on board all ships). This adult exclusive spa is perfect for any spa treatment or salon service of your liking.

Adventurous Activities

Port Adventures are available at every stop of the way during a Disney Cruise. Essentially, Port Adventures are guided tours & activities. Activities include wildlife encounters, culinary experiences, sightseeing and more. Reservations ahead of time are strongly recommended. Specific examples you can partake in include:

  • Dog-sled racing in Alaska
  • Riding bikes in Barcelona
  • Swimming with dolphins in the Grand Cayman Islands
  • Wine tasting in Santorini Greece
  • River tubing in Jamaica
  • Boating off the Amalfi Coast
  • And so much more!

Romantic Dinners & After-Dinner Drinks

Though there are various magical Disney-themed restaurants on-board, you can also choose to enjoy fine dining at one of the adult exclusive restaurants on board (Palo on all cruise ships; Remy on the Disney Dream & Disney Fantasy).

There are nightclubs & lounges for only adults on every ship. These are perfect if you’re looking for a night out with specialty cocktails.

Magical Extras

Disney Castaway Cay, Disney’s Private Island, is an exclusive stop on Bahamian and Caribbean cruises. One spot on this private island that would be perfect for honeymooners is Serenity Bay. Serenity Bay is an adults-only oasis. Enjoy massages on the beach, frozen specialty drinks, delicious BBQ, ocean fun and more.

Disney Cruise Line offers experiences you can’t find on other cruise ships. For instance, deck parties with fireworks at sea occur on most sailings. Broadway-quality shows and character meet-and-greets are just a few other examples!

2. Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa Honeymoon Highlights

Why Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa Honeymoon?

Aulani Resort is the perfect mix of Disney magic, romance and tropical paradise. It is located in Hawaii (in Ko Olina on the Island of ‘O’ahu to be exact).
